WALKER – Garfield Decourcey, also known as “Pope ”, aged 80; late of Mangrove Terrace, St. Peter. Retired Postman (St. Peter Post Office).
Son of the late Editha and Cecil Walker;
Cherished Husband of Maureen Greaves-Walker;
Dearest Father of Mark Francis, Avenel Hinkson- Forde and Kathy-Ann Walker;
Stepfather of Mario Greaves, Stephanie Lynch and Donna Searles;
Grandfather of 16;
Brother of Stella(USA), Carlotta and Alexander Walker and the late Audrey, Charles, Annie, Sheila, Norma, Violet and Thelma;
Uncle and great uncle of many;
Father- in-law of Wesley Forde;
Brother-in-law of Marlene, Angela, Waveney, Anthony, Kenneth and Anderson;
Relative of the Walker, Headley, Rochester, Thorpe, (Barbados), Ifill(Barbados and Trinidad) and Daniel (St. Lucia) families;
Friend of the Postal Workers – St. Peter Post Office, the Black Bess and Mangrove communities and several others.
A Homegoing Service of Praise and Thanksgiving to celebrate the life of Garfield Decourcey Walker will take place at St. Peter Parish Church, Speightstown, St. Peter on Saturday 31st January 2026, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 11:30am for the service, the cortege will then proceed to St. Peter Cemetery, Road View, for the interment.
His body will repose for viewing at the Bethany Evangelical Church, Eagle Hall, St. Michael on Friday 30th January from 3 to 5pm and at St. Peter Parish Church on Saturday from 10.30 am until the commencement of the service where floral tributes will be graciously accepted.
Floral tributes may also be sent to LE Smith Funeral Home no later than 8:15 am on Saturday.
The Organist and choir are kindly asked to attend.
Mourning colours are optional.
